damn writers block questions! i was just about to post; aint got no writers block! go away.

however the air is now better to breathe. i've come in to a new camera, best orgasm i've ever had. that's all there is to say!

i celebrated with a new place on my list, HOME PLACE PLANTATION.
though it's boarded up i hear the owners live nearby and are real
friendly. at least that's what the cop said who interrupted my shoot.
i'll have to charm the keys out of these people.

the city of abita springs is a typical example of small town louisiana. blend backwoods with weirdos and you get this quaint place, fit with microbrewery and freak-show museum.

a very old school in my neighborhood, over one hundred years old; completely neglected. its a beautiful space about ten years empty and could be useful if the city would only take a look at it.

crikey! what a busy weekend. glad i can now relax on my bum instead of my on my feet. lets celebrate!

this one isn't any good. i know.

but i'd love to start collecting driftwood, make a table or bench or something... maybe a tree house! this was one of those sunny, rainy days next to the river.

on a different note.

i came back to THIS place, my favorite place, one free afternoon last week expecting to have to hop the fence and low and behold, 'twas open again! looks like some construction is happening inside, there were work tables and a few holes dug in the ground. left me uneasy. i'll die if they tear this place down. i've already nearly had a heart attack when the school was razed.

before i went in i stopped two guys in hopes of them knowing what this place was used for. instead i just learned that the area is called 'the kill zone' and that they hear gunshots every night from their house down the block. i knew i was in a bad neighborhood but it looks like this one's a winner! lets look at the pictures.

these are from the digital, i havent been able to get the film developed yet.
i've got to sell some more cups o' lemonade before i can proceed.

tonight i spoke to an older fella who said he could get me inside. he's done construction work for it and believes his connection is reliable, but i'm definitely wary of being alone in there with him. he was too eager to 'show me places.'

Upon returning to the school in these photos I discovered that it was in the process of being torn down. About half of the complex stood, but still the remaining buildings had been gutted. Nothing was left, not that I could see. A fence had been posted surrounding the area and beyond, coming out at least 500 feet from where I stood.
I do not yet know what the development plans are.
